OUR OFFICE UPGRADES AND PREPAREDNESS
We have not been idle. One of our main responsibilities at Da Vinci Dental Arts is to ensure the health and safety of our patients, staff and dental health care providers. How to achieve that successfully in the era of COVID-19 is a new daunting challenge that did not exist in New Jersey prior to March, 2020. .
At Da Vinci Dental Arts we have followed a scientific approach to the Covid-19 pandemic, based on the latest information, research, guidelines and information from various sources. These sources include the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the American Dental Association (ADA), the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) and the state of New Jersey’s Division of Consumer Affairs. Through the compilation of information from all these sources, we have designed an implementation strategy to minimize potential Covid-19 exposures or transmission in our office.
Some of our strategies are behavioral. How can our staff and patients change the way the approach coming to our office in order to minimize possible Covid-19 transmission. Some of our strategies are technological. What technology can we use to minimize possible Covid-19 transmission? The answer is varied. It can be as simple as re-positioning chairs to achieve social distancing in the waiting room, to getting state-of-the-art Ultraviolet Light units to achieve germicidal effects in our dental operatories. Please see below some of the technological upgrades we have made to our office in order to better combat the Covid-19 pandemic and help ensure safe patient care at our office.
ULTRAVIOLET GERMICIDAL IRRADIATION
Germicidal UV Lamps are lethal to microorganisms. These UV lights will be installed in all of our dental operatories to help reduce airborne microorganisms generated during aerosolization procedures.
EXTRAORAL DENTAL SUCTION UNITS
One of the most significant challenges in dentistry will be the control of dental aerosols in the age of COVID-19. Our new units are designed to help reduce droplet and aerosol spray that is an inherent part of dental care and help improve safety by reducing airborne pathogens.
AIR DISINFECTING PURIFICATION UNITS
These are sanitizing devices that circulate ozone to purify the practice’s air and surfaces. Bacteria, viruses, mold, mildew, and other contaminants are continuously rendered harmless. This helps create a cleaner, safer practice environment.
AUTOMATED INSTRUMENT WASHING- HYDRIM G4.
The consistent repeatable cycles for cleaning dental instruments is one of the key advantages to using automated washers. It ensures every set of instruments receives the same validated cleaning process, and cycle data is recorded to provide accurately detailed and consistent tracking for instrument cleaning.
WATER DISTILLATION UNIT
Impurities in the water are removed through the distillation process. No other type of water filter, water purifier, reverse osmosis or any other water purification system, can make water this pure. This makes distilled water the very PUREST water we can use in our disinfection and sterilization protocols.
INSTRUMENT DISINFECTION & STERILIZATION
We will continue to ensure our instrument sterilization protocols with the utilization of our Tuttnauer EZ10 autoclave, Scican 5000 Statim and Biosonic UC125 ultrasonic cleaner to ensure optimum instrument disinfection and sterilization in all of our infection control protocols and procedures.
PPE DISPENSING STATIONS
The Protection System from Bowman® Dispensers holds a variety of gowns, 3 boxes of gloves, 1 box of earloop surgical masks, a box of shield-style face masks, and a variety of PPE supplies in built-in storage area. This will enable quick and effective utilization of PPE in our dental operatories.
SIGNAGE & POSTERS
We will be posting throughout our office multiple signs and posters to educate and remind all of our patients and visitors on the new social distancing parameters and other guidelines and safety warnings that need to be implemented for the safety of everyone.
